BPS faculty constitutes a huge majority (i.e. over 88 percent) of entire faculty of HEIs. They are undoubtedly a huge contributor and major driver of day-to-day, cyclic and round the year activities. They are a highly qualified and experienced human resource pool, with PhDs/Post-Docs from US, Europe and other developed countries who are discharging academic, research, and administrative responsibilities, with zeal and zest.
This is very unfortunate that BPS faculty is subjected to multi-faced discrimination. There are no justified rules regarding their service structure and experience-based promotion. They are doomed to lose their seniority due to time scaled and ante-date promotions of TTS Faculty. There is no performance-based incentives for them.
APUBTA is country-wide representative forum- aims at working for BPS faculty to safeguard their legitimate rights by uprooting the discriminatory practices concerning promotion, salary, performance-based incentive, study leave, etc.
I request the entire BPS faculty in public sector universities to support us in this struggle for restoring the respect and dignity of university teachers.
